Focus On Automotive Brake Parts Research And Development And Production

If there are obvious grooves in the surface of the brake rotor, the brake rotor usually needs to be replaced. This is because the grooves will affect the flatness and friction of the brake disc, thereby affecting the performance and safety of the brake.

Grooves in brake discs are usually caused by wear and tear over time and friction. When there are obvious grooves on the surface of the brake disc, the brake pads will not be able to fit the brake disc tightly, which will affect the friction and braking effect of the brake. At the same time, the grooves will also cause the surface of the brake disc to be uneven, which further affects the performance and stability of the brake.

Some will also say that the discs can be buffed, but this is not recommended as buffing may negatively affect the performance of the discs. The grooves and wear on the surface of the brake disc will reduce the friction coefficient of the brake disc. If the surface of the brake disc is polished by polishing, the friction coefficient of the brake disc may be reduced, and the thickness of the brake disc may be reduced. Thereby reducing braking effect and safety.

In addition, buffing can make the disc uneven, causing the pads to fail to conform to the disc surface, affecting brake friction and performance.

Therefore, if there are obvious grooves and wear on the surface of the brake disc, it is recommended to replace the new brake disc to ensure the safety and braking performance of the vehicle.
